Canva's Magic Write generates copy from a prompt inside any Canva Doc or design canvas (access via the Canva Assistant panel or / shortcut), covering first drafts, outlines, headlines, paragraph expansion, paraphrasing, and summarisation. It also applies a brand voice filter on Teams/Business plans. Visme's AI text generation works similarly: inside the Visme editor, select a text block and choose 'AI Text Writer' (or use the AI content generation menu) to produce or refine copy. When moving from Canva to Visme: copy finished text from Canva Docs as plain text and paste it into Visme text frames, then use Visme's AI tools to extend or rewrite sections. When moving from Visme to Canva: paste Visme-generated copy into a Canva Doc and use Magic Write to refine tone with Brand Voice if available. Neither platform exports AI-generated copy as a standalone structured file, so manual copy-paste is the migration path.

Both tools generate full designs from a text prompt inside their web editors. In Canva, open any project and use the Canva Assistant (or / shortcut) to invoke Magic Design and describe the layout you want; Canva AI 2.0 also supports a conversational refine loop. In Visme, open the editor and choose 'Generate with AI' from the Create menu to get an AI-generated presentation or document layout. To migrate existing Canva designs: export each design as a PNG or PDF for archival, then recreate the structure in Visme by entering an equivalent prompt in Visme's AI generator. For presentations, exporting Canva slides as PPTX (Pro) and importing into Visme via the PPTX import option preserves slide structure more cleanly than re-prompting from scratch.

Both platforms centralise logos, colours, and fonts in a Brand Kit that is automatically applied when creating new designs or AI-generated content. To move from Canva to Visme: in Canva Brand Kit (Settings > Brand Kit), note all hex colour values, download logo files (SVG or PNG), and record the font names. In Visme, go to Brand Kit under account settings, upload the same logos, enter the same hex values, and set the matching fonts (Visme supports Google Fonts and custom font uploads on Pro/Enterprise). To move from Visme to Canva: export brand assets from Visme and re-enter them in Canva Brand Kit under a Pro or higher plan. Existing designs do not auto-update to a new brand kit on either platform — teams must re-apply brand settings template by template.

Canva's Magic Resize converts any existing design to a new canvas dimension in one click (e.g. a presentation slide to an Instagram post or LinkedIn banner), preserving layout intent. Teams repurposing a Canva deck into social graphics use Resize from the editor toolbar. Visme handles the same workflow by offering dedicated templates per format (social, eBook, report, infographic, flyer) within the same editor — users duplicate a presentation project, then switch to a different format template and manually rearrange content to fit. When migrating Canva multi-format workflows to Visme: export each Canva design at the target size as PNG or PDF, then use those exports as reference while building a matching format from a Visme template. Both tools let teams build slide-based presentations — Canva through its Magic Design AI generation and drag-and-drop editor, Visme through 1,000+ presentation templates with an interactive and animated content layer. Migrating Canva presentations to Visme: export the Canva deck as PPTX (requires Canva Pro), then import the PPTX into Visme (Starter plan and above support PPTX import); slides, text, and images carry over, though some Canva-specific animations and font substitutions may need manual touch-up. Migrating Visme presentations to Canva: export from Visme as PPTX and import into Canva via the 'Upload a file' option in the Canva editor. For new presentations, Canva's Magic Design will generate a layout from a prompt while Visme's AI generator will produce a themed slide deck — both are prompt-based starting points that require manual refinement.

Both platforms offer SSO and access controls at their enterprise tiers. When migrating security configuration from Canva Enterprise to Visme Enterprise: re-configure SSO (Canva uses SCIM provisioning via Org Admin dashboard; Visme Enterprise also supports SSO but SCIM support is not confirmed in Visme docs — verify with Visme sales before committing). Canva's granular AI access controls (admins can enable or disable specific Magic Studio features per team via the Org Admin dashboard) have no direct Visme equivalent; document which AI feature restrictions were in place in Canva and assess whether Visme Enterprise governance controls can replicate them.
