Move your team from Colossyan to Synthesia.

Both tools share the same core workflow: upload a document or paste a script, pick an AI avatar, and the platform renders a talking-head video. When moving from Colossyan to Synthesia, open the Synthesia Editor and use the AI Video Assistant (New Video > Import file) to upload the same PowerPoint, PDF, or Word document that drove your Colossyan project — Synthesia will auto-generate a scene-per-slide structure just as Colossyan's PPT Import does. Review each scene's script, swap in a Synthesia stock avatar, and render. When moving from Synthesia to Colossyan, export your Synthesia script text (copy from the editor), then start a new Colossyan project via 'Start from a document/prompt', paste the script, choose an avatar from the 300+ library, and produce a first cut with Colossyan's AI Script Assistant. In both directions there is no native project-file import; the script text is the portable asset.

Both platforms let you create a digital double of yourself that delivers scripts on-screen. Colossyan's Instant Avatar requires only 20-30 seconds of self-filmed footage (or a photo) and processes in seconds; Synthesia's Personal Avatar requires a 1-5 minute single-take recording plus a live consent capture and processes in roughly one business day. When switching from Colossyan to Synthesia: record the Synthesia consent script in one continuous take via webcam or upload, complete the live consent step in the Synthesia UI, and wait for the avatar to appear in your Avatars library — then assign it to any new video. When switching from Colossyan to Synthesia, no avatar data transfers; you must re-create your likeness from scratch in the destination platform. Synthesia also offers a photo-based Express-2 variant (one clear photo) that is closer in effort to Colossyan's photo-based Instant Avatar path.

Both platforms produce localized video variants without re-recording: the avatar re-delivers a translated script with matched lip sync. In Colossyan, open the finished video, choose 'Add language', and the platform auto-translates the script and re-renders avatar lip sync in the target language; translated versions are linked and update when the source is edited. In Synthesia, duplicating a video and setting the scene language (dropdown per-scene or via the translation workflow) and voice language achieves the same result — Synthesia supports 160+ languages across its 1,000+ voice library with avatar lip sync on the same video player. When migrating from Colossyan to Synthesia: export the translated scripts from Colossyan (copy script text per language version), create a duplicate video in Synthesia per language, paste the translated script and select the matching Synthesia voice. When migrating from Synthesia to Colossyan: similarly, copy each language's script into a new Colossyan scene set with the matching language and let Colossyan's auto-translate refine or re-render. No XLIFF or subtitle file auto-import bridges the two platforms; script text is the portable unit.

Both platforms export SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 packages consumable by any compliant LMS. In Colossyan, SCORM export comes from 'Colossyan Learn': add quizzes, branching, and buttons to the video, then export as a SCORM package (Business and Enterprise plans only). In Synthesia, go to Share > Create link > Download SCORM on a finished video and choose version (1.2 or 2004) and a completion-percentage threshold. When migrating from Colossyan to Synthesia: note that Synthesia's SCORM export wraps a video player — it does not support in-video quizzes or branching scenarios natively; remove or replace interactive quiz logic with a companion quiz tool in your LMS (TalentLMS, Litmos, Thinkific all have built-in quiz layers). When migrating from Synthesia to Colossyan: rebuild interactive quiz and branching overlays in Colossyan Learn on top of the video content; SCORM metadata and completion tracking carry over via standard SCORM fields. Both platforms update the SCORM content when you re-export after editing the video, but the LMS will need a re-upload to pick up changes.

Both products clone a user's voice as part of their personal avatar workflow and provide large stock voice libraries for scripted narration. In Colossyan, voice cloning is a standalone feature — record roughly 1 minute of audio (computer or condenser mic), and the cloned voice appears as a reusable TTS option that can be paired with any avatar, including Instant Avatars. In Synthesia, voice cloning is bundled into Personal Avatar creation: the voice is captured automatically during the avatar video recording session and is not offered as a standalone clone. When moving from Colossyan to Synthesia: complete the Personal Avatar recording to get both your likeness and voice cloned together; you cannot import a Colossyan voice recording directly — re-record within Synthesia's consent flow. When moving from Synthesia to Colossyan: record the Colossyan voice-clone audio clip separately from the Instant Avatar, giving you an independent cloned voice that can be reassigned across projects and avatars.
