Both tools generate a full presentation from a short text prompt, pasted outline, or uploaded file (PPTX, PDF, Google Slides). Moving from Gamma to Storydoc: export your Gamma deck to PPTX (Share > Export > PowerPoint), then upload that file to Storydoc's AI presentation maker and let the AI rebuild it as an interactive deck. Alternatively, copy your topic/outline text and paste it into Storydoc's prompt field. Moving from Storydoc to Gamma: download the Storydoc deck as a PDF or PPTX where available, then use Gamma's Import mode to ingest it, or copy the narrative text into Gamma's Paste mode. In both directions, supply company name and branding inputs during generation to get the closest result to the original. Gamma supports 'Advanced Mode' to refine the AI outline before generating; Storydoc's AI assistant similarly lets you adjust copy and visuals slide-by-slide after generation.
- Warning: Gamma charges 40 credits per AI-generated presentation; Storydoc meters on separate AI text and AI image credit pools (25 text + 20 image/month on Starter, 125 text + 50 image/month on Pro). A high-volume creator may exhaust Storydoc's Starter credits quickly.
- Warning: Storydoc outputs interactive web decks (scroll-based, browser-only); if you need a static PPTX for offline presenting, Storydoc may not match Gamma's native export.

Gamma centralises brand as a reusable Theme (colors, fonts, logo, card styles, AI image style keywords) applied workspace-wide. Storydoc encodes brand during deck generation by supplying company name and details in the AI prompt or by choosing a branded template, then editing colors and typography per deck. Moving from Gamma to Storydoc: note your Gamma Theme settings (primary/secondary colors, font names, logo file) and reproduce them in each Storydoc template you use; upload your logo as a deck element. Moving from Storydoc to Gamma: open the Theme Editor (three-dot menu > Edit Theme), paste in hex values matching your Storydoc palette, upload your logo in the header/footer (Pro required), and add font files under Custom Fonts. Set AI Image Style Keywords in the Theme Editor to maintain visual consistency on AI-generated images.
- Warning: Gamma's logo placement in headers and footers is gated to Pro; Free and Plus users cannot pin a logo globally across cards.
- Warning: Storydoc does not expose a single workspace-wide theme object — branding is set per deck or per template, so rebranding requires updating each template separately rather than changing one global setting.
- Warning: Gamma can import theme colors from an existing PowerPoint or Google Drive file but not from Figma or Canva; Storydoc has no equivalent theme import and relies on manual color entry.
Gamma and Storydoc represent opposite philosophies on deck delivery: Gamma can export to PPTX, PDF, and PNG for offline use or email attachment, while Storydoc delivers exclusively as a browser-based interactive web link. Moving from Gamma to Storydoc: replace attachment-based sharing (emailed PPTX/PDF) with a Storydoc share link, and update any email templates or proposal workflows that previously attached a file. Stakeholders who expected a downloadable deck will need to be directed to the link instead. Moving from Storydoc to Gamma: export from Gamma (Share > Export) to PPTX or PDF to produce an offline artifact; note that interactive elements (embedded video, Calendly, live charts) will not transfer to the static export and must be recreated as static images or footnote URLs.
- Warning: Storydoc has no native PPTX or PDF export — the deck is web-only, so clients or prospects who need an offline file cannot be served directly from Storydoc without a workaround (e.g. screenshotting slides).
- Warning: Gamma's Free plan adds a 'Made with Gamma' watermark to all exports; the watermark is only removed on Plus and higher plans. Budget for a paid plan if clean exports are required.

Gamma focuses collaboration on workspace-level sharing with view/comment/edit roles, while Storydoc focuses on connecting decks into the sales and marketing stack (HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, etc.). Moving from Gamma to Storydoc: replace Gamma link-sharing for internal review with Storydoc's sharing link, and connect Storydoc to your CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce) so deck-open events and engagement scores flow into deal records automatically. Moving from Storydoc to Gamma: set up a Gamma workspace, invite team members with appropriate roles (View, Comment, or Edit), and configure workspace membership to give the whole team access. If you relied on CRM-synced engagement data in Storydoc, set up a Google Analytics integration on Gamma's published site as a partial replacement — Gamma has no native CRM sync.

Both platforms publish decks as live links and report per-viewer engagement. Moving from Gamma to Storydoc: share your Storydoc deck link in place of the Gamma gamma.site link; Storydoc's dashboard will automatically track opens, time per slide, read depth, and engagement score per recipient. Moving from Storydoc to Gamma: publish your Gamma presentation (Share > Publish) and view analytics via the Analytics tab — it shows Relative Time Spent Per Card, Percentage of Views Per Card, and Unique Viewers. In both directions: inform your team that the shareable link changes and update any campaigns or CRM sequences pointing to the old link. Storydoc sends real-time email alerts when a viewer opens a deck; Gamma does not have push notifications, so set a manual review schedule if you rely on follow-up timing.
