Both platforms let you supply a reference photo of a person or character and reproduce their facial identity across new scenes and poses. On Ideogram: use the Character Consistency feature on ideogram.ai or the iOS app — upload one clear, well-lit frontal or 3/4-view reference photo; optionally use the Character mask to control hair and clothing separately. On Midjourney: append --cref <image-URL> to your prompt; dial --cw 0-100 to control how much of the character's clothing and hairstyle is carried over (--cw 0 = face only, --cw 100 = full appearance including clothes). Output resolves to defined dimensions per aspect ratio (e.g. 2048x2048 for 1:1). On Midjourney: click Upscale (Subtle) to preserve the original look or Upscale (Creative) to add AI-generated detail improvements that can also correct artifacts. Output is 2048x2048px for 1:1. Migrating: download the upscaled image from one platform and use it as a starting reference or re-upscale it on the other as needed — both export standard PNG/JPG.
