Move your team from Krisp to Otter.
Each person gets a short interview, then a personalized step-by-step guide showing exactly where their saved work, prompts, and projects land in Otter — and the few things that need a manual step, walked through. You send one invite; nobody becomes the help desk, and nothing in Krisp is changed or cancelled. Want to see where you’re paying for both first? Run the free audit.
Both tools automatically generate structured meeting summaries and capture action items after each call. Krisp produces short or long summaries plus action items viewable in the Krisp desktop/mobile app and Meeting Assistant view. Otter produces bullet-point topic summaries, decisions, and assignable action items, and emails the summary to the host and calendar guests. To migrate from Krisp to Otter: export Krisp meeting notes or copy them manually before cancelling, then let Otter's post-meeting summary email replace Krisp's Meeting Assistant workflow; set up Otter's action-item email digest. To migrate from Otter to Krisp: export Otter summaries (TXT on Basic/Pro; DOCX/PDF on Business/Enterprise) then enable Krisp's AI Note Taker on a Core plan or above.
- Warning: Otter's 'custom AI workflows' for advanced summary templates are gated: Pro allows 5 meetings/user, Business 30 meetings/user, Enterprise unlimited. Krisp does not publish equivalent template limits, so teams relying on Otter custom templates need Business or Enterprise.
- Warning: Otter sends a Meeting Summary email to all calendar guests automatically; Krisp's notes stay inside the Krisp app and require manual sharing. Teams that rely on email delivery of notes must set up a sharing workflow after moving to Krisp.
- Warning: Action items in Otter are consolidated in a single cross-meeting view and can be assigned to team members inside Otter; Krisp's action items require pushing out via integrations (Asana, Jira, Monday) to get a similar aggregated view.
Both tools push meeting notes and action items to external CRMs and collaboration tools. Krisp integrates with HubSpot, Pipedrive, Affinity, Asana, Jira, Monday.com, Slack, and Zapier on Core; Salesforce and ConnectWise require Advanced. Otter integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho, Salesloft, Outreach, JustCall, Slack, Asana, ClickUp, JIRA, Monday.com, Notion, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Zapier; Salesforce and HubSpot are available from Pro up. To migrate from Krisp to Otter: reconnect each CRM integration in Otter's integrations settings (otter.ai/integrations); note that Otter's Salesforce/HubSpot connectors ship on Pro and above, not the free tier. To migrate from Otter to Krisp: reconnect CRM/project integrations in the Krisp desktop app under Settings > Integrations; Salesforce requires a Krisp Advanced plan.
- Warning: Otter supports Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho, Salesloft, Outreach, ClickUp, Notion, and cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint, S3) — Krisp does not list equivalents for these. Teams relying on Dynamics, Zoho, or Notion logging cannot replicate that in Krisp.
- Warning: Krisp's Salesforce integration requires the Advanced plan; Otter's Salesforce integration requires Pro or above. Both have a plan gate but at different tiers and costs.
- Warning: Zapier is available on both products for custom workflow automation, so teams with unusual integration targets can bridge the gap via Zapier regardless of which tool they use.
Both tools offer MCP-based connectivity to AI assistants, but with different roles. Krisp acts as an MCP client: its Core plan includes MCP integrations that push meeting notes and action items into Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor so those AI assistants can consume Krisp's output. Otter runs a full MCP server that exposes meeting transcripts, summaries, and action items to any MCP-compatible AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT), plus an MCP client role letting Otter AI Chat pull live data from Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, Jira, and Salesforce. To migrate from Krisp to Otter for AI-assistant connectivity: remove Krisp's MCP integration from your Claude or ChatGPT connector settings, then install the Otter MCP server via the Claude connectors directory (claude.ai/connectors) or ChatGPT; grant read-only OAuth access scoped to your Otter account. To migrate from Otter to Krisp: disconnect the Otter MCP server, install Krisp on Core plan, and enable the MCP integration for Claude or ChatGPT in Krisp's integration settings.
- Warning: Otter's MCP server exposes a richer query interface (search by date, participants, or topic; retrieve full transcripts) and is available as both a client and server. Krisp's MCP integration is primarily outbound (pushing notes out) with no documented inbound query capability for AI assistants to search Krisp's transcript library.
- Warning: Otter's MCP server access is gated to Business and Enterprise; exact plan requirement is not fully spelled out in public docs. Krisp's MCP integration is listed on the Core (entry paid) plan.
- Warning: Otter's AI Chat MCP Connectors (pulling from Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, Jira, Salesforce) have no Krisp equivalent — this inbound context enrichment is unique to Otter and cannot be replicated by switching to Krisp.
Both tools capture and transcribe meetings automatically, but differ in how they join. Krisp installs as a virtual microphone/speaker at the device level so no bot enters the meeting roster; Otter sends an AI Meeting Agent (a visible bot participant) that joins via calendar integration. To migrate from Krisp to Otter: connect Otter to Google Calendar or Outlook so the Meeting Agent auto-joins future meetings; export any past Krisp transcripts (TXT format) before cancelling to preserve history. To migrate from Otter to Krisp: install the Krisp desktop app, select Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker in your conferencing app (Zoom, Teams, Meet), and enable the AI Note Taker in Krisp settings — no calendar bot setup needed.
- Warning: Otter Free caps transcription at 300 min/month and 30 min per meeting; Otter Pro caps at 1,200 min/month and 90 min per meeting. Krisp Core lists unlimited AI note-taker minutes on paid plans, so heavy users may hit Otter limits if they downgrade tier.
- Warning: Otter's Meeting Agent is a visible participant in the call roster; some customers or compliance policies prohibit third-party bots. Krisp's device-level capture avoids this entirely.
- Warning: Otter transcription supports 6 languages (English, Spanish, French, Japanese fully; German and Chinese Simplified in beta). Krisp supports 16-17 languages. Teams with non-English meetings should verify their language is in Otter's supported set before switching.
Both tools transcribe meetings in multiple languages, but coverage differs significantly. Krisp supports 16-17 languages including Spanish, French, German, Russian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Hindi, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Czech, Ukrainian, and Korean, with English running fully on-device. Otter supports English, Spanish, French, Japanese (full), German, and Chinese Simplified (beta). To migrate from Krisp to Otter: verify your team's primary meeting language appears in Otter's supported list; set the language in Otter's conversation settings before recording. To migrate from Otter to Krisp: install the Krisp desktop app and select the target language in AI Note Taker settings; English processes locally while other languages are sent to Krisp servers.
- Warning: Teams that meet in Russian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Hindi, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Czech, Ukrainian, or Korean cannot use Otter — these languages are not supported. Switching from Krisp to Otter is only viable for teams in Otter's 6-language set.
- Warning: Krisp English transcription runs on-device for privacy; all non-English Krisp languages and all Otter languages are processed server-side. Enterprise deployments with strict data-residency requirements should verify server locations before switching.
- Warning: Otter does not offer simultaneous multi-language transcription within a single meeting; each conversation is set to one language. Krisp similarly targets the primary meeting language per session.
