Both platforms let AI agents call into third-party systems as part of a workflow. In Dust, agents are given a curated set of tools (web search, Notion/Slack/GitHub/Salesforce actions, MCP servers) that the agent selects and invokes autonomously during a conversation, guided by its instructions. Both products offer a conversational AI agent that team members interact with via chat to draft content, answer questions, and assist with recurring tasks. On Dust, custom agents are built in the no-code agent builder: write natural-language instructions, attach knowledge sources (Notion, Google Drive, etc.), and choose a model. The resulting agent is shared across the workspace. On Slack AI, Slackbot serves as the personal assistant accessed via DM — it draws on the user's own Slack history, files, and projects and does not require any build step. To move from Dust to Slack AI: (1) identify the agent instructions and knowledge sources used in Dust; (2) ensure the underlying data (docs, briefs, specs) is searchable inside Slack or in a connected app (Google Drive, Salesforce); (3) direct users to Slackbot DMs for drafting and Q&A tasks. To move from Slack AI to Dust: (1) identify the connected apps that feed Slack's AI Search (Google Drive, Salesforce, etc.); (2) connect those same apps as Dust data sources via the Dust Connections admin panel; (3) verify permission scopes match so that the right users can access the synced data.
