Both tools auto-generate AI summaries and extract action items from transcripts. Moving from Otter to Sonix: after uploading and transcribing your recording in Sonix, open the AI Workspace panel and trigger 'Summarize' and 'Extract action items' — Sonix returns key points, decisions, and tasks alongside sentiment analysis and topic detection. Moving from Sonix to Otter: once the Meeting Agent transcribes a call, Otter automatically produces a structured summary (topics, decisions, action items) and emails it to the host and calendar guests; no manual trigger is needed. Action items in Otter are consolidated across all meetings in the interface. For historical Sonix summaries, copy them into your team's task manager (Slack, Notion, etc.) before cancelling Sonix, as neither tool can import the other's structured summary data.

Both tools support sharing transcripts with teams and organizing content across multiple users. Moving from Otter to Sonix: set up a Sonix workspace and invite team members ($25/mo per seat on Core/Advanced/Pro, unlimited on Enterprise); organize transcripts into folders with tags. Sonix supports inline comments, task assignments on transcript text, and read-only share links with optional password protection. Moving from Sonix to Otter: Otter's sharing model is built around Otter Groups — invite team members and share conversations or whole libraries; transcripts can also be shared via Slack (native integration) or exported and forwarded. Before cancelling either tool, export all shared transcripts (PDF or DOCX) and distribute to team members who need offline copies.

Both tools integrate with Zoom and Google Drive, but their integration depth differs substantially. Moving from Otter to Sonix: Sonix connects to Zoom to import meeting recordings directly, and to Dropbox and Google Drive for file import/export — set these up in Sonix's integrations panel. Zapier bridges Sonix to apps that lack native connectors (Slack, Salesforce, etc.). If you were using Otter's Salesforce or HubSpot native CRM push, recreate that via Zapier webhooks in Sonix. Moving from Sonix to Otter: connect your Google or Outlook calendar in Otter settings to activate automatic meeting detection; add Salesforce or HubSpot in Otter's integrations tab (available from Pro up).
